Event: Webinar on Indo-Pacific Strategy – Reimagining the maritime outlookEvent Date & Time: August 26, 2021, 5:00 p.m. IST Where: Virtual Platform – Zoom Kochi: The Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR), in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General Chennai, will host a webinar on ‘Indo Pacific Strategy – Reimagining the maritime outlook’ on August 26, 2021 (Thursday), from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. IST. Focusing on the U.S.-India bilateral cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, the webinar will bring together distinguished speakers to deliberate on how India and the U.S. can align their strategic and economic interests in the Indo-Pacific region to ensure peace and stability. This webinar is the second in the series of webinars titled ‘India – U.S. Relations: Change, Continuity and Transformation’, being held in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General, Chennai, to discuss key thematic areas involved in the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership. Dr. Rajeswari Pillai Rajagopalan, Director of the Centre for Security, Strategy and Technology (CSST) at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi, and Gregory B. Poling, a Senior Fellow for Southeast Asia and director of the Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative at CSIS will be the speakers in the webinar on August 26. Author-researcher Dr. Lawrence Prabhakar Williams, Adjunct Professor at the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations in Manipal University, will moderate the session. The first webinar in the series, held on June 17, had Dr. Jessica Seddon, Global Lead for Air Quality at World Research Institute (WRI) in Washington, D.C., and Dr. A. Damodaran, Professor, Social Sciences and Economics, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), addressing the topic ‘U.S. and India as Partners in Global Climate Action.’ Two more sessions – one in October and one in December – are lined up in the webinar series and they will have experts talking on U.S.-India trade relations and science & technology cooperation between the two countries.For more details and to register for the session, please visit: https://www.cppr.in/us-india-partner-for-change Registration is free of cost and is open to everyone.
